A New Lent

March 12, 2006

“O God, every year You purify Your Church through the observance of Lent; grant that Your children may lead better lives, and so obtain the graces they are striving to acquire by doing penance.” Such is just one of the prayers of Holy Church as we begin another Lent, the time of uniting ourselves with the redeeming work of Our Savior by a spirit of penance.

In WEBSITE NEWS we discuss our new Stations crucifixes and how they can be an aid during Lent. We have Lenten reading suggestions for better understanding Our Lord’s Passion.

In COMMUNITY NEWS we discuss how email has changed our correspondence, allowing people from all across the world to easily send us prayer requests. The sewing room is always busy and we promise to discuss more about our daily life in our next newsletter. Read More….

October Feast Days

October Feast Days

October 11, 2005

October in the month of the rosary. It also contains the Feast days of two great Carmelite Saints, St. Teresa of Avila and St. Therese the Little Flower. We briefly remember who these great Saints of God were and what they did in their lives.

An addition of a Rosary Gallery is popular for people who do not want to build their own, and we have added more children’s books as well. We also introduce our new Stations of the Cross Crucifix, imported from Germany.

This coming Saturday is the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She is our great exemplar, ever teaching us the way of holiness, silence, sacrifice, and prayer. She offers herself as help and comfort to all—in joy and in sorrow, in temptation and anxiety, in all our efforts to please the good God and reach heaven.

We were able to celebrate this great day with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. And we’ve been busy with gardening, vestment sewing, and a surprise visit from one of the Sister’s brother. Read More….
