St. Joseph Novena

St. Joseph Novena

March 7, 2005

Special Edition

“I took for my patron the glorious St. Joseph and recommended myself earnestly to him… I cannot call to mind that I have ever asked him at any time for anything which he has not granted; and I am filled with amazement when I consider the great favors which God has given me through this blessed Saint; the dangers from which he has delivered me, both of body and of soul.” – St. Teresa of Avila

Dear Friends of Carmel,

It has been long months since we have sent our greetings and given you news of our Community. God’s Providence keeps us well and happy, but also very busy!

Even now, time does not permit us to write a lengthy letter with news. But we cannot let these holiest days of the year pass without letting you know of our prayers and sending our best wishes. May you receive abundantly all the graces Our Lord wishes to bestow on you during these days of contemplating His sufferings for us. May the penances of your Lent bear good fruit in new conversion of soul and true, peaceful joy on the day of His Resurrection.

These are also the days of our novena in honor of St. Joseph, preparing for the celebration of his feastday this Saturday. We want you to know that we are remembering you with gratitude in the prayers of this novena, since you, in so many ways, have been the instruments of his fatherly concern for us and his obtaining from the good God such great blessings upon this Carmel.

Until we can share again with you news of more of these blessings, Pax Christi!

Gratefully in Our Mother of Sorrows,
Your Carmelite Sisters

P. S. You may wish to take a look at the many new book titles we have added to our web site. In choosing these books, we had in mind specifically spiritual reading for the time of Lent and the Paschal season, the time the Church gives us each year for striving for a closer union with God and holiness!
