Who Becomes a Sister?

Our building project is coming along slowly but surely, and we are grateful it will be finished soon. Our community has grown by two, as we celebrated both a clothing and profession ceremony in the past few months.

Who becomes a Sister? Our answer is that God calls and draws all sorts! The Sisters come from a variety of backgrounds and have a multitude of different personalities. The wonderful thing is to see how Our Lord blends and uses all these personalities and talents for His greater honor and glory. And you would be amazed at how adept He is at that! Read More….

We are happy to share the joyful news of the Reception of the Holy Habit of Mount Carmel. Clothing Day is always a most joyous day, a truly family day and, for the new Carmelite bride, a day of beginning in earnest the life of consecration to Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Church. We describe the different parts of the habit and why we wear them, especially the brown scapular.

We designed a new Brown Scapular having all the traditional, time-honored symbols and message of this favored sacramental of Holy Mother Church, including washable woven emblems and 100% wool, and if you do not already own and wear a scapular, we urge you to learn more about it! Read More….

The Holy Souls and St. Teresa of Avila

Don’t forget that November is dedicated to the Poor Souls in Purgatory. Our Holy Mother St. Teresa of Avila had many experiences with a soul in Purgatory, and documented the experience in her writings: “The Lord told me that the young man's salvation had been in great jeopardy, but that he had received mercy for the service he had rendered to the Blessed Mother in giving that house to be a monastery of her order; however, that he would not leave purgatory until the first Mass was said there-- that then he would leave. I was so conscious of the grievous afflictions of this soul that even though I wanted to make a foundation in Toledo, I set it aside and hastened as much as I could to found a house in Valladolid...” (Foundations, Chapter 10).
